01 · SNAPSHOT

What the current pricing landscape shows

These observations are calculated from the same downloadable records shown below—not from a separate marketing summary.

88%

have some free path

This includes limited free tiers and software that is free to self-host. It does not mean the underlying model, hosting or business deployment is cost-free.

37/50

publish a usable numeric entry point

The remainder use custom quotes, consumption billing, regional checkout pricing or bundles that cannot be represented honestly by one number.

12

different product categories

A $10 image subscription and a $10 developer plan buy different units. Category and billing basis matter more than the headline number alone.

Important: “Starting price” is the lowest relevant public paid entry point we could verify—not an estimate of total cost of ownership. Taxes, overages, API calls, seats and annual commitments may be additional.

Automation finds changes. A human publishes the price.

The system is deliberately semi-automated: source monitoring scales, while editorial review prevents a layout change or promotional banner from silently becoming “the new price.”

  1. 1

    Use first-party sources

Each product is linked to its official pricing, billing, help or product page. Third-party price aggregators are not used as the deciding source.

  2. 2

    Normalize the commercial fact

We record free access, the lowest relevant paid entry point, its billing basis, and a note explaining bundles, credits or usage charges.

  3. 3

    Check sources every week

A rolling server-side monitor revisits every official source about once per week and flags meaningful page-content changes for review. Sources that block automated requests remain in a visible manual-review queue.

  4. 4

    Verify before publishing

A flagged source does not automatically overwrite this dataset. The record and its verified date change only after the new public offer is checked.

What we track

Public self-serve access, lowest relevant paid entry point, billing unit, plan model, official source and last human verification date.

What we do not claim

Checkout totals in every country, negotiated enterprise quotes, taxes, temporary coupons, or a complete cost model for every workload.

04 · QUESTIONS

How to use this tracker correctly

Does “free access” mean no credit card and unlimited use?

No. It can mean a free plan, a limited trial-like allowance or open-source software. Check the note and official source for limits, model charges, hosting and card requirements.

Why are some rows “plan-dependent” instead of a dollar amount?

Some AI features are bundled into larger subscriptions or sold through consumption credits. Publishing one number would be misleading, so the tracker states the billing structure instead.

How often are prices updated?

Official sources are monitored on a rolling weekly cycle. The visible price and verification date update only after a human reviews a detected change.

Is this the same as the 100 AI Tools directory?

No. The directory explains what tools do and who they suit. This page is a reusable commercial-data layer focused on access, pricing model, entry price and source evidence.

Can I republish this data?

Yes, under CC BY 4.0. Attribute AIListPrime, link to this canonical tracker, preserve relevant caveats and re-check time-sensitive facts before making purchase decisions.

How can a vendor or reader report an error?

Use the contact channel and include the product, the disputed field and an official public source. Corrections are reviewed independently of sponsorship or listing status.
